What Centerpiece should you choose for your Wedding Decor?

In a very simple language, centerpiece is any item that one decides to put in the center of a table to draw attention onto the table, as a focal point. They can set the tone for guests to engage with one another, serving as a point of interests which usually is  a good conversation starter, needless say that it is also a medium of expressing and reflecting your style and personality to your guest. Last but not least, Centerpieces add to the overall beauty of the venue and the theme for the wedding. Making your event a more memorable one.

Choosing the right centerpiece can seem overwhelming and intimidating, the key is to choose what feels right to you and what suits your wedding, you don't have to replicate an inspirational piece you saw, if it doesn’t suite your style, theme, palate or your budget.

Here are some basic guidelines for choosing your Centerpieces

Pick a color scheme that complements your wedding colors, bridesmaid dresses, and bouquet.

Pick your elements and focal points. Your elements could be items that highlights a favorite hobby for the bride or groom, or both e.g sea shells for divers, vintage books for avid book lovers, ensure that this items still work with your color palate or find a way to harmonize (make elements that don’t go together get along) by using a common characteristics they share together, this may be color, pattern, texture, shape etc.

Flowers could easily add up your costs, but they never go out of style. There are loads of ways to save up on cost and keep your overall budget reasonable. E.g. buying flowers, yourself (DIY) and asking friends and family members to help with simple arrangements would be beneficial. There are loads of inspirational pictures on the internet these days. Try picking your favorite flower or a blossom that complements those in your bouquet. If your budget permits, its best to get a floral designer, to save on the stress of having to deal with this yourself.

The most important questions to ask will be,

1 What do I want my overall look and feel to be like?

2 What Inspires me, which is a must have look for the table and overall decor?

3 What how much do have I set aside in my Budget for the Centerpieces?

4 Do I have help from friends and family to do-it-myself or am I willing to go all out for this section of the Budget?

5 What would I be happy seeing in the pictures down the line? say 5- 10 years from now, when viewing your wedding album.

In the long run, It all about you and what you vision you have for your big day. It doesn't have to be Pinterest perfect for everyone, it only has to be perfect for you!
